LBL's #1 Batter Chosen Monday, May 1st, 2023 When John Oakes stepped up to the plate in April, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Lester B. Person League Batter of the Month award. The young Kelowna second baseman posted a .485 batting average with 12 home runs, 36 RBIs and scored 35 runs. Oakes also worked pitchers for 17 walks to post a .569 on-base percentage. This season Oakes is batting at a .456 clip with 28 home runs and 69 RBIs. |
