Nolan Sensational, 5-6 Friday, March 31st, 2023 On top of the Niagara hit parade today was Ernst Nolan. He went to the plate 6 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Stars to a 15-5 victory over the Victoria Capitals. The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Capitals wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Ernst Nolan hit a two-run home run off Alain Michaud in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season Nolan is batting .355 with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 107 at-bats, 17 walks and a .461 OBP. Nolan has played in 26 games. |
