Oakes Tags Saints for 5 Hits Monday, March 20th, 2023 It was a sensational day at the plate for John Oakes as he led the charge to a 8-7 win over the Saints. The Kelowna second baseman was pure misery for the Trois-Rivieres pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Saints told BNN reporters after the game, "Oakes put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." John Oakes hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Daniel Pélissier in the 7th and singled in the 9th. On the year Oakes is hitting .389 with 28 hits, 10 home runs, 16 RBIs, .443 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
