Lester B. Person League Best Pitcher Chosen Thursday, June 9th, 2022 The Kelowna clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Iván Vázquez will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 2022 Lester B. Person League Cy Young Award. Vázquez made 13 starts this year, winning 5 and losing 1. He threw 82 innings, fanned 95, allowed 70 hits and 22 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .230 average as he logged an impressive 2.63 ERA.Javier Peña of the Calgary Outlaws finished second in voting, while Steve Hill of the Niagara Stars finished third. |
