League Suspends Capitals Cortés 4 Games Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 Victoria's Javier Cortés made contact with the home plate umpire during a dispute in the game with the Outlaws yesterday and he will have to pay for it. Cortés violently disagreed when he was called out on strikes. During the intense discussion he bumped chests with the umpire and was immediately tossed out of the game. Today the league commissioner gave him a 4-game suspension. Still steamed by it, Cortés told BNN, "I think the ump bumped me and he is the one who should be suspended. I'm going to appeal this sucker." This season Cortés is hitting at a .333 pace with no home runs, 12 RBIs and has scored 18 times. |
