RDL Silver Slugger Award Goes to Witt Monday, May 19th, 2025 If he wasn't already a household name in USA NCAA DIVISION I, John Witt of the Long Beach State 49'ers certainly is now. He has a bright future ahead of him after today being named the winner of the 2025 Rod Dedeaux League Silver Slugger Award, at the age of only 21. "I feel like I'm getting better all the time, so I'm looking forward to the years to come," said the ace, who this year put up a 5-1 record. Overall, Witt made 10 starts and pitched 62 innings, racking up 78 strikeouts with 14 walks and a 1.16 ERA. Edward MacKinley of the Fresno State Bulldogs finished second in voting, while Craig Hilton of the South Mississippi Golden Eagles finished third. |
