Garner's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Thursday, April 24th, 2025 The Bruins proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Tigers 5-3, but Jayson Garner continued his god-like hitting as he collected 2 hits and ran his hitting streak to 20 games. When asked about his torrid-hitting third baseman, the UCLA skipper said, "Garner is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Garner was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Jayson Garner flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th. This year Garner has hit at a .299 clip with 20 RBIs, 3 home runs and 32 runs scored. |
