Tate Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Iowa State
Tuesday, April 15th, 2025
Late in the game Cowboys catcher Carl Tate stepped into the batter box with his 22-game hitting streak on the line. Up to then he was without a hit. Sadly it just wasn't to be -- Tate did not get a hit -- and his streak was finally over. The Cyclones had stopped him, not allowing him a hit in 5 at-bats. However, Oklahoma State won the game 3-2.
"Winning the game took some of the disappointment out of it," Tate told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 22 straight games. It's something I will always remember."
Currently Tate is batting .338 with 12 home runs and 31 RBIs.
