Player of the Week Trophy to Ortega Monday, March 31st, 2025 So far in his young career, Carlos Ortega has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Rod Dedeaux League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 19-year-old Houston Cougars third baseman hit at a torrid .438 clip as he collected 7 hits in 16 at-bats, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored. This year Ortega has hit at a .286 pace and produced 30 RBIs, 8 home runs and scored 19 runs. |
