Hutchins KO'd by Major Injury Monday, March 24th, 2025 South Carolina center fielder Jon Hutchins sustained a concussion making a defensive play in yesterday's game against the Buckeyes. It was only later, at the local hospital, that the severity of the injury became apparent. While the Gamecocks team doctor was confident Hutchins would make at least a partial recovery, he was less optimistic about his future in baseball. "Professional ballplayers need to be in peak physical condition. Unfortunately, Jon will be affected by this injury for the rest of his life." For the year Hutchins is batting .266 with 2 home runs. |
