Morris and Brown Suspended for Free-for-All Sunday, March 23rd, 2025 Tempers were flaring yesterday at Field of the Dukes. Both the Ragin Cajuns and Longhorns were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown, but fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, Louisiana-Layfayette's Lawrence Morris and Texas's Dave Brown were ejected from the game. Today the league office suspended Morris and Brown for 8 games each. For the year Morris has hit .379 with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 10 runs. For the year Brown has 6 relief appearances and a 0-0 record with no saves. He has logged 9.1 innings and allowed 11 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .306 batting average against him. Brown has rung up 8 strikeouts, surrendered 6 walks and fashioned a 7.71 ERA. |
