Dominant Years Win Bowen SBL Silver Slugger Award Friday, May 17th, 2024 He's only 21 years old, but Elias Bowen of the Oklahoma State Cowboys has clearly established himself as a star of USA NCAA DIVISION I. His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2024 Skip Bertman League Silver Slugger Award. "I just want to pitch well and win games," he said. "The awards are nice though." Bowen's award-winning season saw him put up a 4-1 record through 11 starts, throwing 57 innings. He had 87 strikeouts with 17 walks and a 1.58 ERA. Opponents hit only .184 against him during the season. John Smith of the North Carolina Tar Heels finished second in voting, while Ernest Vance of the Oklahoma State Cowboys finished third. |
