Crespo Chosen RDL's Best Pitcher Thursday, May 16th, 2024 The Cy Young Award for 2024 has been presented and the Rod Dedeaux League winner is Alfredo Crespo of Houston. "It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Crespo. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Cougars star told reporters. Crespo excelled with an impressive 5-1 record in 11 starts. In 62 innings he yielded 27 hits and 17 walks, while striking out 78 and compiling a fine 1.74 ERA. Ricardo Estrada of the Stanford Cardinals finished second in voting, while Pepe Trevino of the TCU Horned Frogs finished third. |
