Silva Ousted as Manager; Michigan Begins Search
Tuesday, May 7th, 2024
The future of the Michigan Wolverines will not include Marcos Silva.
Much-criticized for his in-game managing by local scribes of late, Silva has been fired as manager of the Wolverines.
The decision is believed to have been made primarily by the team's owner, who was always quick to publicly criticize Silva's decisions on the field and in the clubhouse.
When reached at his home in Michigan, the owner said the decision was made "in the best interest of the team," but he refused to elaborate on the specific reasons which led to the firing.
Silva told BNN he plans to explore his options for another job in baseball.
"I'll miss Michigan and I'll miss the Wolverines, but I won't miss having everything I do second-guessed," he said.
