Colbert Blisters Rice Friday, April 5th, 2024 Ron Colbert really did a number on the Owls in the Arizona 11-6 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Ron Colbert did just that today for the Wildcats and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win. "I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 19-year-old left fielder said after his record-setting performance. Ron Colbert singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Merrill Bennett in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Colbert is hitting .286 this season with 9 home runs, 31 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has 32 hits in 112 at-bats. |
