Swinney Tags Trojans for 5 Hits Saturday, March 30th, 2024 It was a hits blitz for Eric Swinney at Hartford College Grounds. The Cal State Fullerton Titans second baseman tore into USC for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. But it wasn't enough to win the game. The USC Trojans swept past the Titans 6-5 to ruin the day for him. The Cal State Fullerton manager bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game. The Trojans got too many good looks today, and we paid for it." Eric Swinney singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th. This season Swinney has hit 6 home runs and posted a .449 batting average. |
