Hitting Streak Still Alive for Swinney Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 Cal State Fullerton's 21-year-old second baseman Eric Swinney has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Swinney extended the streak by going 1-for-3 against 49'ers pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Swinney always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Titans 3-1 triumph over Long Beach State at Ballpark of Macclenny College he downplayed his part in the victory. Eric Swinney singled in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, flied out in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th. Swinney on the season is batting .463 with 6 home runs. His totals include 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has played in 19 games. |
