Silva Bashes 5 Base Hits Sunday, March 10th, 2024 It was a hits blitz for José Silva at Ballpark of Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley College. The Fresno State Bulldogs shortstop tore into Arizona State for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But it wasn't enough to win the game. The Arizona State Sun Devils swept past the Bulldogs 14-11 to ruin the day for him. The Fresno State manager bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game. The Sun Devils got too many good looks today, and we paid for it." José Silva hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jacques Sanchez in the 8th.
