Jiménez Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Tuesday, April 18th, 2023
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Alfredo Jiménez of the Long Beach State 49'ers. He tore up the Texas Longhorns to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the Long Beach State 22-4 win today at Ballpark of Macclenny College. "Jiménez was a tough out today," the Texas manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Alfredo Jiménez singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Steve Wright in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season Jiménez is batting .262 with 6 home runs. His totals include 18 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
