Ellis Tags Rebels for 5 Hits Wednesday, April 20th, 2022 There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. George Ellis of the LSU Tigers had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 12-9 win over the Ole Miss Rebels at Ballpark of Wrightsville College. The 20-year-old first baseman told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day... enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe." George Ellis hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 10th. This year Ellis is batting .289 with 2 home runs and 24 RBIs. In 40 games he has scored 16 times. |
