Young Sizzles in No-Hitter Monday, March 28th, 2022 Is it better to be good -- or lucky? After his 9-0 no-hitter over the Iowa State Cyclones he responded, "I don't know," said Auburn's John Young with a grin. "To do what I did, I guess it takes both." On his historic day at Forney College Grounds Young made good pitches the entire game, fanned 12 and had 5 walks. When the Cyclones hit the ball hard, they hit it right at someone for an out. But that's how you get a no-hitter -- a lot of skill mixed with a little luck. Young has fashioned a 1-0 mark for the season, 3.86 ERA and thrown 18.2 innings in 2 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .156 against him. |
