Huff Sizzles -- Smokes Cougars for 5 Hits Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Marc Huff showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Washington State Cougars and helped the South Mississippi Golden Eagles beat them 11-5. The manager for the Cougars told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Huff keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. Marc Huff singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Huff is presently hitting at a .324 pace with 2 home runs and 11 RBIs. He has played in 10 games and scored 5 times. |
