Fujita Slams 3 Deep for Oregon Sunday, April 4th, 2021 Hirotaka Fujita of the Ducks brutalized South Mississippi pitching, parking three home runs into the bleachers in today's 13-6 victory. The Oregon first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long. "I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats." For the game he went 3 for 5 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Too much Hirotaka Fujita today," Golden Eagles manager said. "That's simply what the game boils down to." "Phenomenal!" said one impressed spectator. That one word says it all. Hirotaka Fujita hit a solo-shot off Ramón Ruíz in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Guillermo Pacheco in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jeff Heffernan in the 8th. To date Fujita has chalked up a .333 average with 10 home runs, driven in 23 runs and scored 29 times. |
