SBL Names Best Player Monday, March 22nd, 2021 So far in his young career, António Villarreal has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Skip Bertman League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 19-year-old South Carolina Gamecocks center fielder hit at a torrid .483 clip as he collected 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 5 home runs, 14 RBIs and 8 runs scored. Villarreal is currently hitting at a .293 pace with 8 home runs, 20 RBIs and has scored 20 times. |
