Quintero and Holmes Suspended for Free-for-All
Thursday, March 11th, 2021
Carlos Quintero of the LSU Tigers was not happy with John Holmes, and his frustration showed when he went after the Ole Miss player during yesterday's game at South Paris College Grounds. Both benches cleared as they rushed to the aid of their teammates. Order was soon restored as Quintero and Holmes were pulled away from each other. They were ejected from the game.
Both players were suspended 7 games by the league office as a result of their tussle.
"It's something that happens in baseball every once in a while," Quintero commented later. "We get frustrated with another player and sometimes things go too far. We'll both take our suspensions and then come back ready to play. I got no hard feelings."
On the year Quintero is hitting .125 with 4 hits, no home runs, 2 RBIs, .200 OBP and has scored 2 runs.
