Fujita Gets 5 Hits Thursday, March 11th, 2021 It was a hits blitz for Hirotaka Fujita at Sooners Ballpark. The Oregon Ducks first baseman tore into Texas A&M for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the Ducks to a 20-1 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book. The manager for the Aggies bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Fujita, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Hirotaka Fujita hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Fujita is batting .462 with 18 hits, 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, 12 walks, .588 OBP and has scored 13 runs. He has played in 11 games. |
