Sandoval Slams 5 Hits for Chippewa
Sunday, June 8th, 2025
Players get multi-hit games all the time. But a 5-hit game only comes around once in a blue moon. It happened at Philip Banks Field when Víctor Sandoval of Chippewa scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Bel Air Princes. He was down and a little subdued with mixed feelings in the postgame interview. "It was a good day for me, but not a good day for the River Chiefs. The bottom line in baseball is to win. We didn't do it today," he told the press after the game. He walloped 5 hits in 7 at-bats in his career day performance, but it was the Princes, who won the ballgame 8-7. However, the left fielder of the River Chiefs did have this to say: "My swing was really, really there today. I made some good, solid contact and when that happens... good things happen. Sure, 5-for-7 and losing is better than going 0-for-5 and losing. I'll take 2-4 and a win and be overjoyed. I ain't greedy." Víctor Sandoval singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 12th.
So far this season Sandoval is batting .307 with 5 home runs, 31 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 231 at-bats, 19 walks and a .363 OBP. Sandoval has played in 54 games.
