Fern Goes on Rampage Against Cyclones Thursday, August 1st, 2024 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day. St. Paul's Craig Fern had a very special day against the Cyclones when everything came together for him. He really swung the bat with authority, getting 5 hits in 6 at-bats. However, it was Coney Island that picked up the victory. They topped the Saints 6-5 at Coney Island Coliseum. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Fern said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but the loss kinda put a damper on the day." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name written in the record books. Craig Fern singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and struck out in the 11th. So far this season Fern is batting .285 with 6 home runs, 48 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 333 at-bats, 28 walks and a .350 OBP. Fern has played in 92 games. |
