July's Starter of the Month Goes to Chang Thursday, August 1st, 2024 There's something about a young rookie winning the Buck O'Neil League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Ho Chang, a 19-year-old starter for the Winfield Warriors. In July, he topped off the month with a 4-0 mark and 1.54 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 23.1 innings, fanned 26 and held opposing teams to a .169 average. This season Chang has a 6-5 mark in 18 starts with a 3.86 ERA. He has given up 80 hits in 93.1 innings, struck out 101 and issued 47 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .228 batting average against him. |
