Austin's Starter Receives AHL Pitching Award Thursday, August 1st, 2024 In July, Hidetoshi Samurakami tore through the August Herrman League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 20 years old. The young Austin starter posted a 3-0 mark and an ERA of 0.81 to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. In 22.1 innings he collected 33 strikeouts while limiting the opposition to a .175 average. This year Samurakami has fashioned a 8-4 mark, 3.40 ERA and pitched 98 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .262 against him and he has logged 138 strikeouts. |
