Bad News for Blue Claws, Fontaine Injured Sunday, July 14th, 2024 It took the Baltimore team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever Florent Fontaine won't simply play through radial nerve compression after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Vikings-Blue Claws game. At first, it looked like Fontaine might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 8-9 months. This year Fontaine has no saves, totaled 65 innings, allowed 59 base hits and fashioned a 2.91 ERA while racking up 76 strikeouts and a record of 3 wins and 2 losses. |
