Bush Wackers Martínez Named AHL's Best Pitcher Monday, July 1st, 2024 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Bernardo Martínez, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Brisbane Bush Wackers reliever, 21, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .138 average and walked away with the August Herrman League Pitcher of the Month award for June. Martínez posted a 6-0 mark and a 1.82 ERA in 14 relief appearances. In 24.2 innings, he had 1 save, 40 strikeouts, and 11 walks. During this season Martínez has delivered 3 saves. In 41 relief appearances, he has 94 strikeouts in 70.1 innings with a 2.82 ERA and 9 wins and 1 loss. |
