Player of the Week Trophy to Hirata Monday, May 6th, 2024 So far in his young career, Takakazu Hirata has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Buck O'Neil League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 23-year-old Chippewa River Chiefs first baseman hit at a torrid .474 clip as he collected 9 hits in 19 at-bats, 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and 7 runs scored. So far this year Hirata is batting .325 with 5 home runs. |
