Manuel Martínez Out for 11 Months
Wednesday, May 1st, 2024
The Bethesda Hornets learned that Manuel Martínez is likely to be out for 11 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Bethesda manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Manuel is back in action."
So far this year Martínez has made 6 starts, tossed 23 innings, struck out 30 batters and walked 15. His record is 2-1 with a 3.13 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .274 batting average.
