Velásquez Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Sunday, April 7th, 2024
5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Raúl Velásquez of the Brisbane Bush Wackers. He tore up the Austin Hipsters to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the Brisbane 7-2 win today at Hipster Grounds. "Velásquez was a tough out today," the Austin manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Raúl Velásquez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This season Velásquez is batting .444 with 5 RBIs, 6 runs scored and no home runs.
