At the age of 19, the Houston first baseman has been named the winner of the August Herrman League Silver Slugger Award. He had a .322 batting average and a .455 on-base percentage this year. In 134 games he piled up 154 hits, 24 doubles, 4 triples, 39 home runs, 105 RBIs and 92 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." Qian Thean of the Sanford Stingrays finished second in voting, while Pedro Reyes of the Beach City Seals finished third. |
