Gnats Pitching Ravaged by Green Saturday, August 26th, 2023 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Gregg Green got one today. He scattered hits all over The Pond to pace Kingwood to a 24-6 victory over Nichols. The Nichols skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Green hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Gregg Green walked in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Javier Ortíz in the 1st, hit a three-run double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. Green is hitting .382 this year with 3 home runs and 27 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .442, 15 walks and scored 19 times. |
