Batkin Acclaimed Top Pitcher in June Saturday, July 1st, 2023 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Edward Batkin, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Barrow Frosties closer, 20, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .220 average and walked away with the Buck O'Neil League Pitcher of the Month award for June. Batkin posted a 1-1 mark and a 1.35 ERA in 14 relief appearances. In 13.1 innings, he had 12 saves, 19 strikeouts, and 6 walks. This season Batkin has nailed down 24 saves. In 33 innings he has fanned 42 batters and walked 13. His record is 1-3 with a 3.55 ERA and the opposition is batting .269 against him. |
