New Orleans's Lam Out 11 Months Friday, June 23rd, 2023 Watching Nhat Lam getting helped off the field today at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, fans of the New Orleans Jedi Knights feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the reliever will miss 11 months with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Lam suffered the injury throwing a pitch in the game against the Mustangs. For the year Lam has 25 relief appearances and a 3-2 record with 2 saves. He has logged 30 innings and allowed 24 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .220 batting average against him. Lam has rung up 20 strikeouts, surrendered 13 walks and fashioned a 3.90 ERA. |
