May's Premier Pitcher Announced By BOL Thursday, June 1st, 2023 There's something about a young rookie winning the Buck O'Neil League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Qi-chen Dong, a 22-year-old starter for the Chippewa River Chiefs. In May, he topped off the month with a 6-0 mark and 1.52 ERA in 6 starts, tossed 41.1 innings, fanned 48 and held opposing teams to a .193 average. This season Dong has compiled a 7-0 record with a 1.77 ERA in 10 starts. |
