5-5 Day for Valdéz Thursday, April 20th, 2023 There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget. Francisco Valdéz of the Princes had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today, but he couldn't pull out the victory. Despite his hitting heroics, Bel Air fell in defeat 7-5 to the Cherry Hill Stealers at Philip Banks Field. The 19-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview, "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time. It would have been very special, if we had won the game." Francisco Valdéz singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mun-cheol Ong in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 10th. This season Valdéz is swinging the bat at a .300 rate with 18 hits in 60 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 8 runs and driven in 15. |
