Atkinson Takes BOL Cy Young Award Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Jason Atkinson performed like a veteran on the hill for the New Orleans Jedi Knights and walked away with the Buck O'Neil League Cy Young Award in the process. The 23-year-old Jedi Knights star fashioned a 18-3 won-loss record in 2022 with a 4.04 ERA. In 194 innings of work and 34 starts, Atkinson struck out 226 while giving up 160 hits and 98 walks. He held opposing batters to a .222 average.Tony Bacon of the Victoria Vikings finished second in voting, while Baltwin Baars of the New Orleans Jedi Knights finished third. |
