League Suspends Palia 3 Games Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 The suspension of left fielder Deepak Palia did not sit well with the Westside Road Warriors. Both Palia and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 3-game suspension issued today by league officials. Palia was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Victoria Vikings yesterday at The drakkar. Palia was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me." His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull." Palia did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him. This year Palia has collected a .253 batting average to date with 90 hits in 356 at-bats, 70 RBIs, 14 home runs and scored 63 times. He has played in 103 games. |
