José Valentín Hurt, Out 7 Months Tuesday, July 19th, 2022 José Valentín at first refused to leave today's Baltimore-St. Paul game after he suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty St. Paul starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Valentín out of action for 7 months. So far this season Valentín has compiled a 7-5 record with a 4.86 ERA. |
