Injury Takes Toll, Tomás Ontiveros Out Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 The Chippewa River Chiefs will have to make do without Tomás Ontiveros for 4-5 months. He suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Kingwood Knights. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the starting pitcher. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." To date this season, Ontiveros has registered 13 starts, 2-5 won-lost mark, 6.71 ERA, 63 IP, 65 strikeouts and 24 walks. Opposing teams have hit .328 against him. |
