Souza Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 21
Wednesday, July 7th, 2021
Late in the game Road Warriors second baseman Carlos Souza stepped into the batter box with his 21-game hitting streak on the line. Up to then he was without a hit. Sadly it just wasn't to be -- Souza did not get a hit -- and his streak was finally over. The Human Beings had stopped him, not allowing him a hit in 6 at-bats. However, Westside won the game 7-5.

"Winning the game took some of the disappointment out of it," Souza told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 21 straight games. It's something I will always remember."

In 72 games this year Souza has posted a .264 average and put up these numbers: 4 home runs, 25 RBIs and 33 runs scored.
