Pérez Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 21
Wednesday, June 16th, 2021
The hitting streak that New Orleans center fielder Júlio Pérez had going was ended today by the Baltimore Blue Claws. Pérez, who had hits in his previous 21 games, was stymied today, but the rest of his team picked him up, earning the Jedi Knights a 3-0 victory at The Republic. He was hitless in 4 at-bats.

"Hitting streaks come and go. One good thing came out of it, however, it perked up my batting average a little bit, but did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with the streak always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."

This season Pérez is batting .336 with 5 home runs. He has scored 32 runs and driven in 20.
