Wayne Penfield Will Miss 5 Months Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 The Killeen Black Knights learned that Wayne Penfield is likely to be out for 5 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Lake of the Isles Wolves. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be shoulder inflammation. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Killeen manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Wayne is back in action." Taking a look at his season, Penfield has made 8 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 1-0 won-lost mark and a 1.35 ERA. In pitching 13.1 innings, he has totaled 16 strikeouts and 4 walks. |
