Injury Takes Toll, Román Cruz Out
Wednesday, August 13th, 2025
The Riverside Red Bulls learned that Román Cruz is likely to be out for 12 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Temple Goers. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Riverside manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Román is back in action."

This year Cruz has notched no saves. He has 70 strikeouts and 30 walks in 64.1 innings while registering a 3.92 ERA and a 9-3 won-lost record.
