Kichida 5-for-6 Against Goers
Friday, July 18th, 2025
It was a sensational day at the plate for Goro Kichida, but a letdown as well as the Jail Birds dropped the game 14-11 to the Goers. Nonetheless the Newark center fielder was pure misery for the Temple pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Kichida said. The manager of the Goers told BNN reporters after the game, "Kichida put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Goro Kichida hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.
This season in 58 games, Kichida has hit at a .221 clip with 46 hits, 3 home runs, 25 RBIs and 22 runs scored.
